About this tool

Converts every page to the size you choose, which is what you need when a document produced for US Letter has to print on A4 or the reverse. The two are close enough that printers usually accept either and different enough that the result loses an edge or gains a band of white.

Content is redrawn onto new pages rather than the paper size being changed underneath it. Changing the MediaBox alone moves the sheet and leaves the content where it was, so text ends up off the page — a common failure in tools that take the simpler route.

Scaling preserves the aspect ratio and centres the result. Stretching a page to a different ratio distorts text visibly, and it is never what anyone actually wanted even when it fills the sheet more neatly. A4 and Letter have different proportions, so converting between them always leaves a small band of white on one pair of edges.

One consequence worth knowing: because pages are redrawn, interactive elements such as form fields and annotations are not carried across. The visible content is preserved; the interactive layer is not.
