Crop PDF Pages
Trim margins from every page of a PDF by setting the crop box, with an honest note on what that does.
Processing: This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input and any file you open stay on your device — nothing is uploaded to a server.
How to use the crop pdf pages
- Choose your PDF.
- Set the margin to trim from each edge, in millimetres.
- Crop, then download.
About this tool
Cropping trims the visible area of every page by the margins you set. The usual reason is a scanned document with wide white borders, or a slide deck printed with more margin than a screen needs.
Here is the part most crop tools do not tell you. A PDF page has several boxes: the MediaBox is the physical sheet, and the CropBox is what a viewer displays. Cropping sets the CropBox — it does not remove anything. The content outside it is still in the file, and resetting the box brings it back. That is fine for tidying a document and useless for hiding something: if you are cropping to remove sensitive information from the edge of a page, this will not do it, and the information will still be there for anyone who looks properly.
Margins are given in millimetres and applied to every page. Pages smaller than the margins are left uncropped rather than reduced to nothing, and the count is reported so you know it happened.
Everything runs on your device, which matters for documents you would not upload.
Common uses
- Trimming white borders from a scanned document.
- Tightening margins before printing.
- Making a slide deck fill more of the screen.
Frequently asked questions
- Does cropping delete the content outside the crop?
- No. It sets the box a viewer displays. The content is still in the file and can be recovered, so cropping is not a way to hide anything sensitive.
- Can I crop different pages differently?
- Not here — the same margins apply to every page. That covers the common case of a document scanned consistently.
- Is my PDF uploaded?
- No. It is read and rewritten on your device, which is the point for anything confidential.
