Audio tools
Cut, convert and clean up audio
Audio tools built on the Web Audio API. Trim clips, change speed, normalise volume or convert between common formats.
Available now (9)
Audio Converter
Convert audio between formats in your browser — MP3 or WAV out, with bitrate, sample rate and channel controls.
Audio Fade In and Out
Add a fade in, a fade out or both, with a choice of curve that actually matters.
Audio Merger
Join several audio files into one, with a gap or a crossfade between them.
Audio Metadata Remover
Strip ID3 and other metadata from an audio file without re-encoding the audio.
Audio Metadata Viewer
Read the ID3 tags stored in an MP3 — title, artist, album and more.
Audio Normaliser
Measure peak and average levels, then scale the file to a target peak.
Audio Silence Remover
Find and remove silent sections from a recording, with a threshold you control.
Audio Speed Changer
Play audio faster or slower, with the pitch shifting the way a record does.
Audio Trimmer
Cut a section out of an audio file by dragging the range across a waveform.
Planned for this category (1)
These are on the roadmap. Each gets a page when it actually works — no placeholder pages in the meantime.
- Audio Compressor
Not possible in a browser (2)
These are in the catalogue but cannot be built here without a backend, a paid service or a page that fails on the file it names. The reason is recorded next to each rather than left as silence.
MP3 to M4A
This needs both an AAC encoder, which browsers do not expose, and a container writer for MP4 audio.
A WebAssembly AAC encoder and an MP4 muxer, which together are far larger than the JavaScript MP3 encoder the converter now uses.
WAV to OGG
Vorbis and Opus encoding are not available to a web page; browsers decode OGG and cannot write it.
A WebAssembly codec. There is no pure-JavaScript port of either, which is what made MP3 affordable.
