About WebKitool
A directory of small, fast tools for everyday digital tasks.

What this site is
WebKitool is a collection of single-purpose web tools — compress an image, format some JSON, count the words in a draft, work out a loan repayment. Each one does one job, loads quickly, and works without an account.
31 tools are live today. The full catalog lists 693 planned tools, and they are built in order of how often people need them. A tool only gets a page once it actually works — there are no placeholder pages waiting to be filled in.
How your data is handled
Most tools here do their work in your browser using standard web APIs: the Canvas API for images, the Web Crypto API for hashing, ordinary JavaScript for text and data. When a tool works that way, the file or text you give it is never sent to a server, because it does not need to be.
Every tool page states how it processes your input, above the explanatory text. If a future tool genuinely requires server processing — some video and document formats cannot yet be handled in a browser — its page will say so plainly before you use it, and the privacy policy will describe what is stored and for how long.
How it is funded
The site is intended to be supported by advertising. Ads are placed away from tool controls, are always labelled, and never resemble download buttons or tool output. If that ever conflicts with a tool being usable, the tool wins.
Who runs it
WebKitool is an independent project. You can reach the operator at hello@webkitool.com — see the contact page for what to include when reporting a problem with a tool.
Reporting a problem
If a tool gives a wrong answer, fails on a file, or breaks in your browser, that is worth reporting. Tell us which tool, which browser and what you gave it — the input itself is rarely needed and you should not send anything sensitive.
