About this tool

A watermark labels a document's status so a printed copy cannot be mistaken for the final version — DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, a client name, a date. It is drawn across the middle of each page at the angle and opacity you set, on top of the existing content.

Keep the opacity low, around 15–25%, so the text underneath stays readable. A watermark that obscures the document defeats its own purpose, and one that is too faint to notice does nothing.

Be clear about what this is: a visual mark, not protection. It can be removed by anyone with suitable software. If a document must not be altered or copied, that requires proper document security, not a label.
