What this produces is an image of a signature. That is what most documents actually ask for, and it is worth being clear that it proves nothing about who drew it — anyone with the finished file can lift the image and put it on something else. A signature that has to be verifiable is a cryptographic one, backed by a certificate that ties the document to a key and detects any later change. The two get called the same thing and are not remotely equivalent.

That is also why this tool asks for nothing. Most online signing services want an account, an email address and the document itself on their servers — which is a lot of trust for drawing a squiggle. Here the PDF is opened in the tab, the signature is drawn in the tab, and the result is written in the tab.

The signature defaults to the last page, which is where signature blocks usually are, and the position and size can be adjusted before writing.
