  1. Open the image.
  2. Rotate left or right, and flip if you need to.
  3. Download the corrected image.

About this tool

Phone photos often appear upright on the device and sideways everywhere else. That happens because the camera stores the picture in its sensor's orientation plus an EXIF flag saying how to turn it — and not every application reads the flag.

This rotates the actual pixels, so the result looks the same in every viewer, browser and upload form. Flipping mirrors the image, which is useful for scans fed in the wrong way round and for selfies where text reads backwards.

Rotating by 90° swaps width and height, which the preview reflects before you download.

Common uses

  • Fixing a photo that uploads sideways.
  • Straightening a scan fed in the wrong orientation.
  • Mirroring a selfie so text reads correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo look right on my phone but sideways online?
The phone applies the EXIF orientation flag; some websites ignore it. Rotating the pixels here removes the ambiguity.
Does rotating lose quality?
90° steps move pixels without resampling, so nothing is lost. A JPEG is re-encoded once at high quality when saved.
