How to use the svg to png converter

  1. Open an SVG file or paste its markup.
  2. Choose a scale — 2× or more for high-density screens.
  3. Convert and download.

About this tool

The SVG is rendered by the browser's own engine and captured to a canvas, so the result matches what the browser would display — the same renderer, at the resolution you choose.

Scale matters more than it seems. A vector has no inherent pixel size, so exporting at 1× gives a small image; 2× or 3× is what keeps it sharp on a high-density screen. That choice is the one thing rasterising forces you to make and cannot be undone afterwards.

One limitation is worth knowing: an SVG that references external images or web fonts by URL cannot load them during conversion, for security reasons. Such files render with those pieces missing, and the tool reports the failure rather than saving a broken image.

Common uses

  • Producing a PNG for a system that will not take SVG.
  • Exporting an icon at several sizes.
  • Making a raster preview of a vector graphic.

Frequently asked questions

What scale should I use?
At least 2× for anything shown on a modern screen. Vectors have no native size, so the scale you pick becomes the resolution you are stuck with.
Why did my SVG render with missing pieces?
It references an external image or font by URL. Browsers block those during conversion for security, so embed them in the SVG first.
